Wayfinding / Greening
Some great artistic fish posters line the school hallway leading you from the pay table to the cafeteria and the food line. Ordering was fairly simple and straightforward, but there wasn't a line - so we got plenty of attention. They had aluminum can recycling. Lots of styrofoam however. Even extra styrofoam! It's a fish fry where even if you "dine in" they give you a takeout container.
Food
We got there a little on the late side (6:45ish), so my Cod may have been cooked earlier and been under a hear lamp, because it was a little dry. But the breading and portion were good sized. My son had the fried catfish which was excellent. Sides were the standards of fries, green beans, cole slaw, and spaghetti. Great selection of desserts. The ratio of desserts to diners was about 10:1. We could have had five desserts each and there still would have been plenty,
Value
Fair value. $9 adult meals and $4 kids meal - which is fairly typical range for fish fries today. Adult dinner comes with 2 sides and dessert. Kids meals 1 side and dessert. Soda was $1. No tea or lemonade options. No beer.
Atmosphere
Fish posters in the hallway was a nice touch. A small fish fry. They only have it once a year. Volunteers were super friendly. Some students politely tried to sell us tickets to the upcoming pancake breakfast - it was hard to say no.
Overall
3 out of 4. Once a year fish fries are always fun to go to. They usually don't try to do anything out of the ordinary, but because they are only once a year, everyone is super friendly. Loyola Academy has a great mission as a middle school for boys preparing them for high school. They have great support of staff and volunteers which makes for great fish fry. They should be a stop on your fish fry list, especially if you are looking for a nice, quiet fish fry. Plus, with their location near Grand Center and the Contemporary Art Museum, Loyola and be a dinner before a night of entertainment and art.

Year End Reviews
Sometimes it is hard to compare fish fries from year to year. Comparing that Cod from 2014 to 2008 can be a little tough. With that in mind, below is a yearly re-cap for each of the following years. We got a little busy in 2015, then 2017-2019 went by in a blur, so we are missing a few years, so sorry!
