Big sign out on the street and you could smell the fish coming down the block. Which building the fish fry was in wasn't obvious, but it was easy to follow the crowd. Menu sign when you walked in the door. Although there was a line by 5:00, efficient moving people through. Ordering and paying are seperate stations. Plastic plates and silverware. Condiments in packages.
Food:

Great Cod! Maybe the equal of Christ the King. Walleye was also great. Sides were limited, but good. Slaw was excellent and fries were nices and crispy. Hushpuppies were just right. Desserts were home made.
Value:

$8 for plate with two sides. Portions were big. Drinks and dessert were not included. Desserts $0.75 to $1.25, coffee $0.50, and beer $2. No kids meal, but the multi-piece cod was easy to share.
Atmosphere:

Lively buzz in the high ceiling, vaulted gymnasium. Line and food stations were on the perimeter of the tables, so alot of good people watching. Seats at row long tables. The only negative was the constant anoucement of take out numbers.
Overall:3.5 out of 4. Simple, but well done! Cod was excellent. Worth the drive to Illinois and a chance to visit the great town of Belleville.
